About the Family Connections™ Program
Family Connections™ is a free, 12-week evidence-based program that provides current information and research on BPD and family functioning, discussion of treatment theories and practices, and individual and family coping skills based on tenets of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. During the Family Connections™ program, 8-15 participants meet weekly for two hours with two specially trained leaders who facilitate the program, and cover the following areas:

·       Education and Research on BPD
·       Family perspectives and experiences
·       Relationship mindfulness skills
·       Emotional regulation skills
·       Effective communication and validation skills
·       Problem management skills.

The program also provides group support that builds an ongoing network for Family Connections™ members in their area, one of the most valued aspects of the program.

Three independent large-scale studies have validated the effectiveness of Family Connections™, and the program will be run by specially trained facilitators with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Family Connections™ Program Commitment
Family Connections™ is a program that uses 'spiral learning.'  This means that each new skill is built on a foundation of the previous skill; missing sessions will make it difficult to grasp the next, new skill being taught. As we have a long waiting lists we would be grateful if 'known' absences' could be communicated, affording other families who can attend this programme the opportunity; and we can offer you a better-timed program.  Family Connections™ is a content rich program and our goal is for participants to get as much out of the program as possible.

Family Connections™ Program Acceptance
Class numbers are capped so we fill the groups in the order that we receive replies until the maximum number is reached.  We understand that there is a huge need for support and groups fill quickly once advertised.

We do understand that you may be disappointed to miss a place in this group as many are desperate to get support. We are continually working with our trained volunteer Family Connections™ leaders to deliver more groups in your area.

Please note: this program is designed only for families and carers of a person with BPD, not for people with lived experience of BPD.
